Studio City Beautification Association
15 Year Tradition, 100% for Public Space, 100% in Studio City
President: Alan Dymond
Executive Director and Executive Vice President: Bill Harmond
Secretary: Connie Elliot
Treasurer: Laura McKinzie
Directors: Francesca Corra, Rick Rabins
For the past 15 years, Studio City Beautification, affiliated with the Studio City Residents Association, has been planting and maintaining streets trees, medians and public spaces, exclusively here in Studio City. With your help we have installed the familiar welcome signs; built and planted medians along Laurel Canyon, Coldwater, Vineland, Ventura and Ventura Place; and planted hundreds of palms and colorful pistache street trees along Ventura Boulevard and Ventura Place.
This year we have two new ambitious projects, our biggest effort so far: improving the large open space along the busy bend on Ventura Boulevard across from Marshalls, and landscaping the two immense long-neglected medians on Moorpark across from Moorpark Park. As always, we need your help to accomplish these improvements. We’re volunteers. We depend entirely on grants and your annual tax-deductible donations. 100% of your contribution goes to improvements.
Thank you!
The Volunteers of
Studio City Beautification Association

Update on the Oasis Project
The vacant hillside lot across from Marshall's on Ventura Blvd is undergoing a major facelift. A decomposed granite pathway has been installed to accommodate the busy pedestrian traffic along this stretch of road.
Special thanks to LA Conservation Corp who donated and planted a California Sycamore and a whole bunch of beautiful Toyon and Cercis. We have been creating a dry creek bed that will nicely complement these and even more native plants that will come in the fall when the weather cools off.

National Make A Difference Day, 2008
Special thanks to the Studio City – Sherman Oaks Rotarians, Studio City Beautification and the Village Gardeners for helping to beautify the Richard Lillard Outdoor Classroom on the LA River in Studio City. We had 17 volunteers for the October 26 event. It was a great group and much was accomplished.

Our Beautification Association was formed in 1984 with the main purpose of improving our community. We started by supporting causes that green up Studio City with benefits to all who live and work here. Over 300 trees have been planted, watered and trimmed along the Boulevard, adding to both visual and physical comfort, enhancing the air we breathe and cooling our busy sidewalks. We have been thinking GREEN long before the current popular trend. We have completed 6 major traffic medians under the past chairmanships of Chuck Hassel & William Todd.
We have had terrific support from you over the years through the purchase of bronze plaques and donations. We still need your commitment, financially, spiritually and physically.
We ask you to remember that trees are living things. Nails and staples will destroy all our hard work making the way clear for insects and disease, so NO NOTICES PLEASE ON OUR TREES!

The Beautification Association has been responsible for the building of several Studio City medians, planting and maintenance of both medians and street trees, permanent Gateway signs and the selling of Bronze plaques as a fund raiser, for the base of many street trees on Ventura Blvd.
Our fundraising is still underway, so check that pile of mail on your desk and send in your contribution today. Your donation is fully TAX DEDUCTIBLE! For more information, email the SCRA or call (818) 509-0230 and leave us the contact info and mailing address.
You can also sponsor a tree with a donation of $500 and up and receive a personalized, bronze plaque. Leave your distinctive and timeless message under one of our palms or Pistache trees that we have planted along Ventura Blvd. Note: Ventura Place is SOLD OUT! We can install a plaque under almost any tree in Studio City, but a field visit is essential to confirm the feasibility with some custom locations possibly requiring additional modifications and/or installation costs.
You can purchase a Bronze Plaque for a tree (to download form click here).
