Studio City is fortunate to have many incredible organizations that together make our community a great place to live, work and shop. Sometimes there’s confusion about what each of these groups does. Below are profiles to let our members know Who’s Who and Who Does What to create a better Studio City.

Studio City Residents Association

Studio City Residents Association (SCRA) has been advocating for Studio City residents and community for more than 60 years.

SCRA is a membership-supported organization for all residents—homeowners and renters. SCRA’s Board and office staff are all volunteers working to enhance the quality of life in Studio City. SCRA works closely with the neighborhood’s two City Councilmembers, two County Supervisors and other elected officials on issues such as noise, transit, traffic and parking, homelessness and other concerns that arise. SCRA holds developers accountable and works with them to ensure that projects comply with City and State laws and are compatible with our community. Also, SCRA is a member of the Hillside Federation hillsidesfederation.org, which protects the hillsides throughout Los Angeles with 47 supporting member organizations.

SCRA’s bimonthly Community Meetings and Newsletter keep members informed of the latest matters impacting us and support community building and connection. SCRA supports our local businesses by offering its members discounts at 40+ local shops, restaurants and services. SCRA also partners with Studio City Chamber Foundation to present the Studio City Farmers Market every Sunday, whose net proceeds benefit the community.

Studio City Chamber of Commerce

Studio City Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the local business community. The Chamber promotes events, sales and networking opportunities and provides information to visitors about activities and places to visit and stay. The Chamber has a history of donations to charities, and at the end of each year, the Chamber organizes Adopt-a-Senior, which provides gift cards to more than 400 seniors.

Studio City Farmers Market

More than 25 years ago, SCRA and Studio City Chamber Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce’s charitable arm, joined to cosponsor Studio City Farmers Market. This close partnership between Studio City businesses and residents has benefited all, with net profits going back to the community. The Market is open every Sunday, rain or shine, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Ventura Place between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Radford Avenue, with free parking at Radford Studios.

Studio City Beautification Association

Studio City Beautification Association, an affiliate of SCRA, is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the beautification and improvement of our community. For more than 40 years, SCBA has been quietly doing the work of preserving the intrinsic beauty and special charm of Studio City.

As one of the most active beautification programs in Los Angeles, SCBA works year-round to protect and enhance our shared spaces—creating two pocket parks, planting gardens and 12 medians, trimming neglected trees on our main streets, installing “Welcome to Studio City” signage and art walks celebrating local artists, and removing graffiti and repairing vandalized medians. The goal of every project is to create pride among Studio City’s residents and to build a stronger sense of community. By leveraging city and partner resources, securing private and public grants, and always with contributions from individual contributors, SCBA has been able to invest over $1 million in beautifying Studio City.

Save LA River Open Space

Save LA River Open Space, an affiliate of SCRA, was conceived to protect and preserve the natural beauty of Studio City and the San Fernando Valley and maintain community outdoor open spaces for current and future generations to experience, appreciate and enjoy.

SLAROS’s newly redefined mission is to build a greener, safer and more sustainable city, including native planting and tree planting initiatives, fire safety and preparedness, supporting and highlighting our local parks and preserving open spaces and nature—everyday actions that support a Livable Los Angeles. As a result, SLAROS is a key sponsor of the “Studio City Summer Sounds” event at Woodbridge Park, Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (please see “Save the Date!” box on Page 1 of this Newsletter)

Studio City Neighborhood Council

The Neighborhood Council, one of 99 neighborhood councils funded by the City, is a liaison between stakeholders of Studio City and City Hall. Its mission is to be an inclusive open forum for public discussion of issues concerning City governance, the needs and delivery of City services to Studio City and on matters of a citywide nature.

Under the City’s charter, board members are elected by the stakeholders (representing at large, businesses, employees/independent contractors, residential homeowners, residential renters, service organizations, with an appointed youth board member) and address issues such as development, sustainability, homelessness, transportation, and emergency preparedness. The board can adopt community impact statements to publicly express support, opposition or suggestions about any matter pending before the City’s decision makers. The City allocates a taxpayer-funded annual budget to be used for operational expenses, outreach, service projects, and local events.

Studio City Business District

Studio City Business District is a nonprofit organization funded by property owners and covers Ventura Boulevard from Coldwater Canyon to Carpenter Avenue, Ventura Place and portions of Laurel Canyon near Ventura Boulevard. Since its inception in 1999, Studio City Business District has invested more than $6 million in community improvements.

The District cleans and sweeps the sidewalks and gutters daily, power washes sidewalks twice a week, empties more than 100 trash cans three times a week and removes weeds, graffiti, and stickers from sidewalks. It maintains five medians and five garden spaces, and trims trees to help keep the canopy above business signs and to promote the trees’ health. The District also provides security, with trained officers on duty seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you have a safety issue during these hours, call the patrol at (818) 697-5509.
